My thirteen guests and I spent my birthday here earlier this week. I'd been to Saddle Creek a few times before, yet it had been years! I decided on Saddle Creek as they are in a good location, have plenty of space to accommodate a group, are willing to take reservations, are child friendly, and have a good selection of food and drinks. Our experience did not disappoint! First of all, our waiter, Marcus, was GREAT. So much so, that my friend stated she thought he was probably the best waiter she'd had in years. He was very friendly, efficient, and accommodating. The food was also good - slightly more upscale food than the average steakhouse - and includes salads, pizzas, burgers, pasta, and steaks. The prices are a tad bit high in my opinion, but the atmosphere makes up for it. We were seated in a section of the restaurant that allowed us all to hear each other (which was refreshing after the past few gatherings), as well as allowed us to get up and move around in order to talk to everyone. Saddle Creek is back on my radar, and should be on yours, too!

There were 5 of us for dinner and everything was perfect. The appetizer of grilled Brie was delicious and enough to share. Justin, our server, was very professional and our salads and entrees came out exactly when we wanted them. One guest commented their steak was better than Sonny Williams and Arthur's steakhouses in Little Rock. We had used ar planked salmon that was moist and flavorful and we loved the grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes that went with it. The prices are very reasonable especially for the quality and the portion sizes. The fried mushrooms are the best! I have taken clients from New York and San Francisco to Saddlecreek and they always deliver with exceptional service and great food.

We ate here on a Monday evening. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet the service was extremely slow. But most importantly the food sucked. My dad and his sister ordered burgers with fries and the fries arrived cold. My boyfriend ordered the prime rib, which he likes pretty bloody, but this thing was damn near raw, and it too was cold. But the prime rib sandwich was good, so I was told. And the prices were ridiculously high!!

Over priced steaks and prime rib. But I will say that the service was excellent, too bad the food didn't match.

Overall, not a horrible dining experience. The decor is a bit dark for my taste, but the service was quite good. The food was decent enough, but I felt well overpriced for what you got. Salads, veggies, etc are all extra over what are already prices too high for what you get. Our food was Chili's or Aplebees quality, only significantly more expensive. Can't really see us going back with so many choices nearby with similar quality food and significantly lower prices.

Went here on a Sunday evening and had a good time. If you go before 7 they have happy hour on select wines, martinis, and appetizers. Service was just OK but the food was good and I liked the atmosphere a lot. Recommend!

It was a Sunday afternoon around 1 pm and the parking lot was empty. Not a good sign, so I thought. Ya know the church crowd letting out and gathering at places around NLR and there were no cars to speak of. I was a little worried at what was about to unfold. We entered and were greeted with the most warm greeting from an establishment I have been to. Usually, its a monotone min. wager saying "Welcome to Polly's Split Pea Soup Shop home of the Linda Blair split pea soup and endless bowl of salad." But this one was truly a warm welcome. One that made you think that you just walked into her home during the holidays.. Everything but the hug.. I would have liked that, she was pretty cute.. Anyway.. Back to the experience. My friend and I sat down to order and the waiter came to us and asked us for our order.. We ordered beer and wine.. He asked me for my ID. WTF. I was like come on. I am 43. Her brought our drinks out and I asked my friend if she would trust me on her temp for her steak. She is one of those Med. to Med. Well kinda people. I asked her if it was the blood or the color that she didnt like. She said, the blood. Bingo, I could have a convert here depending on the ability of the chef in the kitchen. I ordered one Med. Rare and one Rare. It seemed before I could finish a sip of my beer, our food was on the table. She cut into her steak and saw that it was more red than she would like it but she said that she would try it. The steak was cooked to med Rare and there was no red juices on the plate. She tasted it and LOVED it. I tasted my rare and it was outstanding. As for the steak, it had a great flavor and the portion was more than enough. As most of these style of restaurants, they offer a baked potatoe. This was the one of two drawbacks to the meal. My potatoe seemed to be cooked well in advance because the skin had formed that dreaded hard film between the skin and meat of the potatoe. It was small and had hardly any toppings for a loaded potatoe. But it wasnt enough to not go back because the steak was very well prepared. I am not one for desserts at places like this because they tend to be very generic in flavor and lack any real appeal. Well, he brought out the dessert tray in which to choose from. They all looked wonderful as they should. I ordered the Carrot Cake and she ordered the chocolate cheescake. When hers came out, they forgot to add the chocolate sauce on the top so that made it less flavorful. However, my Carrot Cake was not what I was expecting at all. I was expecting a cold / chilled dessert but man this thing was to die for. Warm tasty and packed with flavor. It wasnt a sweet carrot cake by any means. It was perfect. That first bit sent shivers down my spne because I thought it was going to be cold and it was WARM. Very good. Saddle Creek has a nice little bar with huge dining room and it is perfect for large groups or couples to dine. The staff is very well trained. I often observe the wait staff and I will say that these servers are spot on. One guy went around checking the levels of the pepper and salt and another was right behind him filling. You might be saying, "So wow thats not hard." It isnt hard but when you run an establishment well, everything must be in place even down to the level of pepper and salt. That is the sign of a well managed establishment. I will certainly be back.

I stopped here while passing through Little Rock on a 1300 mile road trip, in an attempt to avoid all the mall chains and fast food near my hotel. Sadly it made me wish I hadn't put in the effort. The atmosphere was cozy and nice. Then the server took 15 minutes to come over and take drink orders. They were out of the wine my boyfriend and I wanted. Whatever, they offered a decent substitution, and much later, we received it. Put in our food orders. Ten minutes later, server comes over and says "You won't be seeing me much because I'm going to jump in and help in the kitchen to get everything out faster, but I won't forget about you." What? Who says that? Our BLT salads, covered in gloppy dressing with crappy iceberg lettuce came out quickly and then he disappeared as promised. It was really confusing because while there were a couple of 6-8 person parties there, the restaurant was not packed at all. The kicker was when the server returned again, after we had explained we were exhausted and just wanted to eat and go to bed, and tried to get us to change our order to the salmon because it would supposedly be faster. We told him never mind and to bring us the bill for the wine and salads. He backpedaled and said that he was just trying to keep us informed and kept telling us so to the point I was cringing with awkwardness. Just stop, dude. You and whoever is running the place screwed up, move on. We went to the Wendy's drive thru on the way back to the hotel. Should've just done that to begin with.

The pork chops and steak were ok, but everything else wasn't good. The ribs were horrible and the salads were soggy and dressing tasted like straight oil. We tried to give third time the charm, but was disappointed again and again. So Saddle Creek is off the list.

My husband and I had dinner here last night while traveling through AR. It was recommended by our hotel but they definitely need to reconsider that move. The food was awful to say the least. I ordered a cedar plank salmon but it was obvious that the cedar plank was not wet because the wood was burnt to a crisp after sending the salmon back 2 times because it wasn't cooked. My husband ordered prime rib and said it was like shoe leather. The waitress was kind but really not professional. I would never recommend thus place to anyone.

It has been a long time since eating here last. The location is very good and accessible. Plenty of parking, all on one level. Resturant has a great ambience. Since it was just me I chose the bar, using a small tall table and tall chairs. When I called and asked about specials, the hostess Told me about soups, crab chowder and asparagus and Mushrooms. Both sounded great, so I chose Saddle Creek over driving further to eat crab legs. WOW! I made the right decision! Crb chowder was great ! The tall bar drink served by bartender Bob was very good! Ceaser salad nice size and good! Io Ordered the small 12 oz. prime rib cooked medium rare + the edge had crusted pepper. Served with au jus and a side of creamy horseradish sauce. And a side of asparagus. Asparagus was small and tender. Meat was very good and cooked perfectly. Very tender! I highly recommend!

Good service and food was prepared very well and seasoned great. Quality of cuts was lacking the 'bang for the buck'. I had the filet and my wife had the steak salad. Too much gristle in the cuts.

I think 2 stars is generous. We went for our anniversary and expected a pretty good meal. What we got was a very long wait after being seated. We were told the prime rib was "beautiful" and ordered 2. The rest of us ordered the bone in rib eye and Ahi tuna. The tuna was good, and the rib eyes were good. Not great, just good-maybe 3 star. But the prime rib...oh brother. It came out gray and limp looking. It looked to me like it was boiled or microwaved. Med rare was gray through and through, and tough enough that you actually had to saw through it. Back they both went. More waiting. Then out come another gray prime rib, obviously boiled or MW'd again! Well, that was it. I said forget it and just asked to have them removed from the bill, never eating dinner. I do not know how any steak place could even attempt that kind of treachery. The onion strings were just plain bad.Calamari was very good.Rib eye good. We are not going back. Many better places out there for sure.

We went on a Sunday night at six pm. We were seated promptly and experienced great customer service throughout our visit. The appetizer was very good. The salads could have used a better quality lettuce so they weren't near as good as they could have been. I had a medium rare sirloin that was cooked to perfection and had wonderful flavors. My wife had the ribeye which was cooked perfect at medium but could have been trimmed a little better. It lacked flavor somewhat and was just a messy cut of beef. Overall it was a very good visit but the food shouldn't take almost an hour and a half to get to you.

The steak was tough and taste less. Did not taste like aged meat. Over priced for the quality. Wine list did not contain any good wines.

My husband & I went to Saddle Creek friday night for dinner and it was a good experience. They definitely were not as busy as I would expect for a friday night dinner rush but the parking lot wasn't empty. To be truthful I'd never really noticed Saddle Creek before and we decided it's partly because it's faced a very incovenient way, if you're over in the Fox & Hound shopping center you can't see the front of the restaurant at all. However we were feeling open minded and my hubby wanted some seafood, which they had a good selection on the menu so we stopped in. It was a beautiful night so we decided to sit outside, the patio furniture was not comfortable, but we're laid back and we wanted to enjoy the evening so we stuck it out. We started with drinks, they have a nice martini menu pretty reasonably priced (all around $7) so I ordered an appletini and hubby got a fat tire on draft. My appletini tasted like apple juice, I still don't believe there was any alcohol in it so I moved on to a glass of Riesling which was a winner. They brought out fresh bread & butter which was delicious and hubby got a bowl of seafood chowder, which he raved over, i dont eat seafood so I didnt try it but he practically licked the bowl clean he enjoyed it so much. On to the entrees, they have a really good selection of different things on the menu everything from salads and sandwiches to seafood and prime rib. I was stuck deciding between a blackened chicken sandwich or the Cheyenne Woodfired Chicken, our server told me the Cheyenne chicken was the way to go so I went with that. Hubby got blackened salmon. My chicken was DELICIOUS, it was a grilled (or "woodfired" as they put it ) chicken breast covered in mushrooms, cheese, and bacon. mmmm! Just thinking about it is making my mouth water, it was served with the best garlic mashed potatoes- soooo goood. Hubby was super pleased with his salmon, it was a little spicy but he enjoys his spicy food so it was all good. His salmon was also served with the garlic mashed potatoes which we both raved over. All in all it was a delicious dinner, we toasted to Saddle Creek as a keeper and we will return in the future. I think the food is reasonably priced for a nice dinner out- my chicken ran around $11 and the salmon entree was about $16. Our total bill for 3 drinks, soup, and 2 entrees was $60. I definitely would reccomend Saddle Creek, next time we will sit inside where the furniture looked much comfier and I will not order a martini! Also service was very good, wish I could remember our server's name to reccomend him but they all seemed really personable and helpful!

I went there one time. Food was not that great and the prices were pretty costly for what we got. Plus, we came out smelling like a grill. Fancy place for a special night but not some where i would want to go all the time.

Been a while since I have been here but I remember the food was memorable. The service was above average, and like the other review there was no one in the parking lot. Quiet cozy dark atmosphere. I will eat here again!

Tepid, upscale dining, comparable to eating in some nondescript hotel restaurant. The bar is very generic -- not a bad selection, nor a great selection of spirits. Where the restaurant fades into "same-ole, same ole," the staff of Saddle Creek try earnestly to be superlative. Despite the atmosphere being dated (new carpeting would help), and the food being just above decent, the service remains impeccable! Just on that note, this restaurant is worth a revisit.

We have visited this restaurant many many times and the food is always good....but we haven't been there lately...we went tonight to celebrate a birthday with a group of 11 people. They put us in a private room which was nice but the interior of the entire restaurant is in really bad shape....the ceiling tiles are filthy and stained...the carpet is worn and stained and hasn't been cleaned in a very long time. The walls are beat up..it was so disappointing....its not what you expect to see in a pricey restaurant. It used to be very well kept up. But...if they don't care about the cleanliness of the building...I'm not sure I want to eat there again...if this is how they maintain the areas the customers can see....what are they doing in the back..where the food is prepared???

Okay...so I'm sitting here right now in Saddle Creek & they sat us in a area where the air conditioning unit was dripping on our table. We asked for the manager. They sent a manager...oh yeah it was the kitchen manager(John Bell), he walked to the table with a MAJOR ATTITUDE...almost like we were a inconvenience to him! His suggestion was to have a "little water" dripping or be stuffy from cutting the air off"!!!!! REALLY...THAT WAS YOUR SOLUTION!!! Well let's just say me & my party of 8...left! The worst service I've EVER received from a restaurant!!!

Amazing... The steak came out just the way I liked. The rib was questionable, until I sunk my teeth into it. And my tongue did the happy dance! A++ better to try it then read about it.

I have always been amazed by the service here. There aren't many choices for good food in NLR and this is one of the best options for sure. Coconut shrimp and crab cakes are amazing! Happy hour is good. Steaks have that wood fired grill flavor. I highly recommend this place...for the location it is wonderful!
